What I have seen several times now is the old 900 gas line coming up to fuel rail from behind starter and developing cracks right out of nowhere without having been squeezed or anything.
I have several sizes brass butt connectors with barbs that I can use to splice a line anywhere if needed instead of replacing the whole line.
Lowe's and Home depot sell those brass pipes. When done correctly it is as good as any of the other press fit pipe connections.
