As per your advice . . . I see what you're getting at and it makes sense based on your understanding. However, there are a couple of things to take into account you weren't aware of . . . First, I paid cash for the car so I have no payments so repairing it isn't that bad of a problem, second, the cost to repaint the car and add the wheels was paid for by my auto insurance after the car was vandalized (keyed). Because I have a good friend who does body work I was able to have it painted and add the wheels for what I received from the insurance check for just the paint job - so, to a great degree it didn't cost me anything and I wound up with a much more attractive car. Third, I live more than two hours from anywhere I can find that works on Saabs but if I had the "spare" car I'm confident that I know someone locally that could take mine off and put another one on. Cosmetically speaking I could use the back bumper off from the "spare" since mine has a hole it where it looks like someone backed into a car/truck with a trailer hitch and the heater/ac control knob is stripped and won't turn so you can't select defrost, panel or floor air flow without using needle nose pliers (pain in the butt). Also, the 2 backseat interior lights keep popping out because someone broke the plastic part that holds them in and one of the hinged "flaps" that are supposed to fold back down once the top is down broke off so there's a "hole" that shows when the top is down. In addition, the plastic "housing" under the front seat that surrounds the underside of it is broken. I was figuring that if I could fix these things using "spare" parts from another one and maybe use a few of the things that might occur in the future it might be worth $2,100 to buy it. Does it still sound like a bad idea? Thanks for your valuable in put.
