I have the Koni's and Swedish Dynamics springs. I don't seem to have any problem dailing in the rebound rate. Granted I haven't gotten to play on the track YET.
As for the shocks not being stiff enough, I would bet that the shocks Abbott and the others sell are not any different. For an apples to oranges comparison, there is a guy I know that has an BMW e-30 M3 (the race car with a/c). He has adjustable coil-over springs with VERY stiff spring rates and stock adjustable Koni's. I have even seen shock dyno graphs and would predict that the dyno curves for the saab shocks are probably the same (considering statistical error).
