Noel, I've got two wiring harnesses that allow use of a smart phone through the trunk CD player. It plugs in right behind the ACC and requires no wire cutting. The one I'm using is a Audio Troll and works well. The other is from a Swedish company and I've never installed it. Both devices were ordered and damn if both didn't arrive. I was afraid the audio troll would not make it so I ordered the back up. The input jack comes out right under the ashtray and I just leave my phone down on the rubber dimple pad. I know the audio troll isn't made anymore. I don't know if the Swedish company is still around. This was all before the bankruptcy. The solutions are out there but it took awhile to find. The reason I went this way was I hate after market stereos. They look like crap to me and are a target for theft. This input and new polks were all the car needed to sound great. I kept the stock subs.
