HI all,
Whil ereplacing the clutch in my car the mechanic broke a part of the catalytic converter. I asked him to fix what he broke and he sort of "tied" together the piece that he broke w/ some metal wire. A few weeks later it broke again due to something related w/ a snow storm. I asked him again if he could fix it and after blowing me off for 6 weeks worth of trying to get appt. he outright refused. I have takenit to ahand ful of mechanics and they say they can only replace it but do not kno whow to repair it. My question is two fold: Does this sound familiar to anyone? The part that broke is in the front, visible when you pop the hoo. It loos like a round ball and many mechanics mistake it for the flex pipe. i am trying to find a less expensive way to repair this. Any thoughts? also I was trying to get the specs on the part, aka length (number of inches, etc.) and if the CC for this year and make has to adhere to California specs or not. I live in Northern Nj near Montclair. Thanks
