I think it's the fuel pump. How much time do I have? Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Thu, 18 Apr 2013 12:28:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
When putting the key in the on position, I hear the usual fuel pump but with a bit of an unfamiliar noise. If the car is off for say, 30 minutes, the noise is worse (I'm guessing the loss of pressure). It sounds like it is the pump indeed, right?
If so, how much time do I have? I guess the sooner the better.
I don't really like the idea of cutting the metal. The car is in good condition, but it is rusting away in some parts. Some would suggest to just cut the metal and make an access door, but I really feel the tank should be dropped and be done the right way.
I also notice the Saab pump is 500 bucks! Has it gone up in price? I fear some of the other cheaper ones....anyone have a say?
Thanks so much,
Bender
