Anders, I just got my replacement pump. I'm going to try the light bulb test--there are 4 wires which colors do i plug in to the quad socket? Then I switch on correct? Also, I noticed that the wires connecting to the pump unit are exposed--should a wrap electrical tape around them before inserting the entire assemply? I want to tell you that it was mess trying to fit and twist the bottom of the assembly in the tank--forcing was more likely (lines were aligned on top). But I did notice that the triangle piece on top with the 2 hose connectors had separate from the top when the retaining ring was screwed down--any effect on the pump it self maybe not working after a few miles. Thanks s-o-o-o- much for your help.
