I hope you're not thinking of replacing the 9-3 with the 900!

As I recall, the 9-3 was advertised with "over 1,000" improvements over the 900. Not the least of these is a hydraulically-operated top, vs the problem plagued electrical top of the 900 (though I suppose most of those were ironed out by 98...).

Where are you looking up the book value? At NADA, I'm seeing $5,150 for the 1999 9-3 @ 126K, and $4,200 for the 1998 900SE @ 182k? IME, NADA is a lot closer to what insurance companies use for values...
