Mine were badly rusted. PB Blaster and you could try taking the screw out of the clamp and screw it in the other side. It won't go all the way through but will begin to open the clamp a bit - you don't need to open it much to get the tie rod end off. Then you can easily clean the end of the aduster screw. Put the new tie rod end on with the same number of turns it took to get the old one off and you could get away without an alignment, as long as you have no alignment problems now. If you plan on getting an alignment, you might as well get the entire adjuster screw out of the other clamp and clean those up as well.
