My 98 Saab se (5-speed) with 125K miles runs fine, but the clutch seems to engage the last two inches or so when the pedal is depressed. In fact, it goes almost entirely to the floor. Should the cable be adjusted or should I check for something more serious? My concerns were elevated when after an hour or so in a slow-moving traffic jam, I had a momentary problem shifting gears; some minor grinding when the pedal was fully depressed. The problem quickly ceased, however, and since then I have experienced no problems.
