I'd go in and change all the fluids (oil, coolant, brake, tranny), air, cabin and fuel filters, spark plugs, R&R any hoses that seem weak, but particularly the heater hoses and the upper radiator hose. I'd probably do the serp belt and pulleys. The belt tensioner is likely OK, but change the pulley. The only thing to really be concerned with is whether there are any sludging issues in the engine. You might want to drop the oil pan and make sure the pickup screen is clear, especially since you don't know how often the oil was changed.
This all gets you to a known point on all that stuff and you can do regular maintenance from there. Look at the brakes and exhaust so you'll get a sense of when they'll need help.
FWIW, I bought a '99 with 138K on it and a '00 with 198K. Had full service records, but still did most of this over a 3 month period on each car as things came due for service. Both run well at 174K and 208K.
