Possibly the turbo gasket. Early on with my 2000 9-3, I sometimes got a single puff of white smoke from the tailpipe on startup. It turned out to be slight leak in the turbo gasket so that when you stopped the car, a few drops of oil would leak through and then get burned up during the next start of the car. Since it was still under warranty, they replaced the turbo. (I'm not sure if you can just replace the gasket or not.)
