Vacuum Hose ID Question Posted by Goldenbear [Email] (#123) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Goldenbear) on Sun, 23 Mar 2014 00:07:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My understanding is that the Viggen uses 4mm ID vacuum hoses
However, I've been told that when switching to silicon hoses, it's a good idea to go .5mm smaller on the ID, as silicon stretches more than rubber hoses and thus, can slip off easier. Since the vacuum hoses don't have clamps, this could be a problem.
The thing is, I thought the whole point of the PCV update was to improve the venting of the gases. So, even though the cross-sectional area difference between 4mm and 3.5mm isn't huge, would this be a bad idea? Or is there enough margin with the PCV #6 update that 3.5mm ID hoses should be fine?
My gut says it should be fine to go with 3.5mm, but my over-thinking, conservative side just wants some reassurance :)
