Massive Oil Leak after catching tree brach

1999 9-3 Convertible (i.e. low ground clearance)
Caught a fallen tree branch that had many little branches in a U-turn starting from the side of the road (where the car had parked). Loud noise from under the car but had to drive 30 yards or so to pull to the side of the road. Got out of the car and pulled out the branches from under the car then kept driving for half an hour or so before parking. When driven a few hours later, the oil pressure light came on. The next morning it took 2.5qts to bring the oil back to full. A half hour drive would take that level down by 1qt. I can now see drips from the edge of the under-body shielding. What could have been caught by the branches/twigs? It's really hard to see under the car without getting the jack etc. The car is currently at my secondary home, not where the jacks etc. are. Any suggestions? Something that I can fix easily or may as well take the car to the local mechanic? My usual mechanic is near my primary home about 60miles away.
