So I had the top down today with Wind Blocker in place Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 26 Apr 2014 13:48:58 In Reply to: Wind Blocker installed on the Viggen 'vert, MI-Roger [Profile/Gallery] , Sun, 20 Apr 2014 13:27:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sunny, cloudless skies, 50 degrees, and a moderate wind.
I kept the windows down and noticed the wind blowing at a standstill was greater than the wind when I was driving at 45 to 55 MPH. Windows up may be necessary at expressway speeds.
Glad I retrofitted this factory/Dealer option as it will definitely make top-down motoring more pleasant.
One other thing. The twist in the Driver's side belt that I removed last weekend may have been deliberately added by a previous owner. The non-twisted belt slaps against your shoulder pretty good at 50 MPH when you get hit with a crosswind. I know that truckers add a twist to the nylon straps securing their loads so that the straps will not slap in the wind. The twist was sure annoying every time I belted up but now I wonder if it was added on purpose.
