And to make matters worse, the XP VM component on our Win7 PC has decided not to respond to password(s) so I can't access my WIS for this car unitl I get the computer repaired.
A ninety mile round trip drive today after replacing the missing O-ring. A couple instances on the return leg of the trip when boost seemed to be lower than expected, then WHAM!, full boost. Exhilarating even at 75MPH but this can't be right.
After the second instance the CEL illuminated and I pulled the P1549 code at home. Boost control valve.
Does this mean it is a faulty 3 port valve that sits atop the aluminum turbo inlet pipe? Or a faulty solenoid valve that is screwed to the firewall? New silicone vacuum lines will go on as soon as the engine cools off.
