1. Not to the best of my knowledge.
2. Saab 4 cyls have chain drive for the cams. It's not a maint. item. You might want to change the serpentine belt with the pulley, see #3.
3. The idler pulleys are prone to failure. It seems like the upper left (top, closest to the firewall) dies most often. You don't want this to happen while you're driving. See my post "sounds like idler pulley" below.

4. A new pulley is about $35. With a screwdriver, socket extension and the right wrench, it'll take a decent shade-tree mechanic about 10 minutes to fix.
