Hi all!
My first time removing a control arm on my 2000 base 9-3. I have looked at the Platenoff series of photos, which are helpful, have loosened the inner bushing, removed the bottom nut on the sway bar link and removed the nut on top of the ball joint, but I can't seem to get the ball joint to come down out of its receiver (the frame-like piece that it goes through). I have tried the harbor freight tool. a crow bar, etc. Ugh!
Is the ball joint press fit into the frame-like receiver? I have read things that make me think it should just fall out if you put enough force on it, but that hasn't happened for me.
I have loosened the inner bushing bolt, but not removed it (as per Platenoff). Would it be helpful in any way to remove that bolt before I take out the ball joint end?? If any of this makes any sense, I would appreciate any help or insight!!
Pete
