Oil leak at cooling line fitting Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sun, 7 Sep 2014 16:56:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have been tracking down an oil leak from the right front corner of the engine. It is getting worse with time and only leaks when the engine is fully cold. Drive the car for 100 miles and park it. No oil beneath the car after one day of sitting, but there will be an oil spot after two days of sitting.
I now suspect the oil cooler lines are leaking at the filter adapter. From the parts diagrams it looks as if the hoses have bayonet ends with O-rings, and there is a single one bolt clamp to keep both lines secure.
Anyone else ever experience a leak at this location? I will be slithering under the car tomorrow night to hopefully see what is up with this annoying leak.
