Improved drain for radiator? Posted by MontereyAero [Email] (#506) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MontereyAero) on Wed, 18 Feb 2015 15:48:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just experienced a engine cooling issue as detailed recently on this board. A fairly difficult part was opening and closing the plastic, barbed drain on my '00 9.3. I assume the radiator is OEM. Has anyone tried to permanently attach a hose with a valve which could extend below the radiator and be directed into a recepticle. The original drain could then be left open. I suppose the materials used would have to withstand a hot coolant/water mixture. The WIS says use a hose temporarily to drain, but for me the difficult part was repeatedly opening, adjusting and closing the barbed drain pipe without having leaks.
Any thoughts welcome.
