Well, that's what the two tools are for in the kit.
You move the engine and camshafts to a point where you can insert the tools between 1-2 sprocket and 3-4 sprocket before lifting off the belt.
If you don't use the kit, it is still good trying to line up the camshafts but much more difficult since at least one camshaft is in suspension and really wants to flip around as soon as belt is removed.
