Yes, it is a very easy swap to do....you just have to unplug one connector and remove 4 or 6 Torx bolts and then just lift the old DI cassette off. Put the new one on reversing the steps.
Key is you want to get an authentic OEM DI cassette and not a secondary knock-off one. The authentic ones have a sticker on them that says made in Sweden. Lately the best prices on these have been found ordering them through either Advance Auto or Rock Auto's web site. They have apparently bought up some inventory of the OEM DI cassettes (labeled as coming from Wells) and are offering them for very good prices. Here are the part numbers you want to look for:
Rock Auto - 5C1762
Advance Auto - C1705
The Advance Auto one will say it is not for a 2000-2002 9-3, but that is incorrect. It is the right one. You do not want the Beck/Arnley one.
