Reasonable prices for brake work

I am clueless about service and new to this board, so please bear with me if this seems, in context, to be an asinine question. I have a '97 900S with 20,000 miles on it. I live in the Boston area (snow, salt, etc). When it was recently in for service, they said I need to replace the brakes (disks and pads?) due to excessive corrosion from not driving enough to keep the disks clean. The brakes definitely feel a bit crunchy compared to previously. They quoted $495 each for front and rear. Is that reasonable? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks.
