My timing issue was likely due to my being off one tooth on a rebuild-
(although I blamed a new sprocket...)
on the timing side, I was wondering if the chain could have slackened enough to cause this. (i don't know) at 200k, it seems possible. You may want to check and see if your timing chain tensioner is fully expanded, indicating a worn chain, but again, I don't know if it could stretch enough to cause the timing to be off that much.
