This is my first post on this forum, years ago when i had 9000, i frequented the 9000 forum.
Anyway, enough of introductions.

I am considering for purchase a 2001SE convertible for which the seller is asking $1800. He has disclosed that the AC compressor needs to be replaced, that the front seats need to be recovered and that the top is in very good shape but the mechanism doesnt work.

I'm a good wrench, so im not averse to putting some sweat equity into the car but I'm afraid that the cost of the parts might make no sense.

So i guess my question is, whats the worst case scenario cost for replacing the ac compressor
Assuming there may be some collateral damage to other ac components if the compressor broke into pieces. And, whats the worst case scenario cost for fixing the top mechanism.
