I run dedicated studless snow tires on my Viggen, but don't carry any chains, so I can't say what will fit. For emergency deep-snow use where you just MUST have the most traction available, an aggressive tire chain is the best bet, but for sure you will need to use some good bungee cords to keep them very tight around the tire. For VERY icy roads (polished, or with water on top), get tire socks. They're great for that.
You didn't say what year your Viggen is. If you have the TCS feature (2001-2002), then I do highly recommend the JZW tune as it greatly reduces the throttle-cut portion of the TCS programming (other tunes may have this?). With TCS on, any deep snow driving is a joke, as it just kills the throttle all the time. Disabling TCS doesn't work at all, I've found, you'll just have one wheel spinning out of control. Honestly, I was laughing with glee when I first experienced the difference, it was so dramatic! If you don't have TCS, then get a limited slip diff...
I must say the Viggen really isn't a great car for winter use. It is just futile trying to put any of the power to the ground, so I'd suggest a used Audi with Quattro instead. I drove FWD SAABs for over a decade before switching to Audi and I'd never go back in a million years. Of course the Viggen is still a blast to drive occasionally...in the summer...on dry pavement...with warm, sticky tires...
