Viggen caliper piston boot tore when replacing Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Tue, 7 Jun 2016 10:36:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the front brake pads. It's a really small tear and I've applied some rubber glue on the tear before pushing the piston back into the hole.
I would like to replace the boot. How difficult is this to do? I have the kit from eeuroparts . Do I need to remove the piston entirely from the caliper to replace the rubber boot?
I checked out this website and they seem to do this: http://www.fixmysaab.com/9-5_repair/brakes/step2.asp?nsteps=5
How do I remove the piston carefully if I only have an air compressor to pump air into tires? In other words it doesn't have a rubber plug at the end to push air into a hole.
I'm hoping to do this fairly easily... Is this better to leave for the shop? I only have about a day or two to do it.
Thanks,
Bender.
