Window Trim is Crinkled Posted by DavidS [Email] (#1993) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DavidS) on Fri, 13 Oct 2000 19:10:13 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Noticed last night that the vinyl trim on the pillar just to the rear of my 9-3 driver's window is beginning to crinkle. I stopped by my dealer today to have him look at it. As soon as I mentioned 'trim' and my 1999 9-3, he knew exactly what was wrong. He has seen several and has laid in a stock of repair parts.
The area is right next to the up-down door locking button. The problem is just starting to develop on the passenger's side too. It seems like the vinyl fabric is pulling away from the solid plastic trim.
I live in Oregon, so it isn't the excessive heat or sunshine that caused this. People with 9-3s and maybe NG 900s may wish to check this area before their warranty expires.
