valve cover and tranny casing are both made out of aluminum...they dont rust.
Exhaust manifold is always brown. Even a fairly new car gets oxidation on the manifold, not a problem. Apparently the metal used for manifolds (all cars) develops surface oxidation quickly. Same thing with the block, fact is iron oxidizes fast. Dont worry about those things. I guess it is a little weird to have a very rusty master cylinder. Mine has a bit but I wouldnt call it "rusty". Ive never really heard anyone ask about engine rust before.
