The PPC device connects to the car via the diagnostics (OBD2) port, it saves the stock ecu tune and then downloads the BSR custom tune. So there was never a need for anyone to mess directly with the ECU module or put a label on the box. There is a link to a pdf of the PPC manual on the GenuineSaab/ Taliaferro website if you want to read how the download works. I'm not a Tech2 expert, but I would think you can use it to download a stock tune file, as well as saving the current tune? There are open source PC programs that allow you to compare tune files--- T7suite, for example. Lots of info at sites like trionictuning.com...
