Have searched/read many threads on this topic, but am still not clear what the situation I see means. Here are my data:
1. Blower motor completely inop whether on auto or not, regardless of fan speed chosen.
2. The configuration isn't like any I've seen in photos on other sites or youtube. The open side of the motor is toward the passenger side, and there are 4 wires on the driver side:
a. - orange wire (with red bit near connector) and brown wire go into a black connector which fits into a white base. I can't get that connector out for anything. I started the engine and put the fan on high, and tested the voltage between these two wires - it was full system voltage.
b. - 2 orange wires with bare connectors on naked terminals just to the right of the above connector. These terminals were badly rusty. I cleaned them off with a diamond file and contact cleaner, but upon replacing the two orange wires there was no change.
According to one thread I studied, the full voltage between the two wires in 2a above would indicate that the motor itself is bad.
All the photos and vids I saw showed the blower's electrical connections to the passenger side of the motor, and a different configuration for the connectors. So I don't have any visual reference to guide me on my motor.
Have I done this correctly? If so, is my conclusion that replacement of the blower motor is required correct? If not, what else should I do to get the correct diagnosis?
Last, what trick am I missing for the removal of that connector in 2a?
Thanks.
