Hello,
It could be either electrical ( one of the micro switches) or mechanical (something with the hydraulic system. I would look at the 5th bow intermediate switch. It is located on the drivers side on the linkage in the rear. The arm for the microswitch rides on a piece of one of the hinges and if it is not actuated the main rams will not activate. They are waiting for the 5th bow to get low enough in the boot to fold the top up. Good Luck, Bernie.

Note: The wire for this switch winds around on the linkage and works its way back into the body of the car near the seat back.
