....the batteries went out on mine on my 2000 9-3 and kept setting off the alarm. I took it out and sent it off to BBA Remanufacturing to have new batteries put in, but I just have not got around to putting it back in because that is not my daily driver. As others said, the SID warns you that there is a problem with the alarm system, but it has no impact on locking and unlocking the doors.
