Cooling fan on at cold start, A/C off Posted by SPG Jr [Email] (#1830) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SPG Jr) on Wed, 5 Jun 2019 13:25:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2000 Viggen, 140k
The engine cooling fan comes on immediately at cold start, like first thing in the morning. Seems to consistently turn off in 30 seconds or so. The fan functions properly otherwise, fan comes on low speed when coolant temp hits 212 (IIRC), according to OBD2 app.
ACC is programmed to ECON at start up so A/C compressor is not on. Fan resistor was replaced. Coolant temp sensor is OEM (Bosch?) and was installed about a year/10k mi
Ago, with a new tstat. I tried swapping the fan relay with another one (same type) in that fuse box, same result. No codes thrown. I began noticing this after doing some other work that required me to disconnect the battery for a couple days.
I’m assuming wonky temp sensor? Anything else to consider?
