This is the passenger side top spring mount on my 1997 as well, except mine has a gaping hole rear of the spring. The passenger side in particular, not to exclude the top shock mounts on each side, are obvious manufacturing weaknesses of this platform. It's holding up and I continue to drive it. Some day it should begin to let go. It's going to be a job cutting it all out and welding on new plates which is how I'll probably do it.
