As a follow up, when I checked the code I was always getting on the list of Saab codes that I have, it lists it as "C position sensor failure". I interpreted that as Crankshaft not Camshaft. However, now thanks to the advice I received here, I have put my spare DIC in and made several small trips on it today and no check engine light so far. My plugs are the correct NGK ones and my DIC is a genuine Sweeden made one so hopefully my problem is solved. I have another genuine DIC I bought brand new a few years ago that I'll put in if I get any repeat codes on the spare one that's in there now.
Many thanks to all you fellows who took the time to give me your advice and suggestions. This forum's great!
