Hi all,
I am having a couple of problems w/ a 1999 9-3. The car is a stick shift and as I was driving down a hill, could have been shifting and in neutral, the car stalled out. Pulled over to a side street and tried to restart the car,,,wouldn't start. Had to call a tow truck, they tried a battery pack but didn't help. Tried the battery pack again and the key in the ignition would not turn. Had the car towed via a recker as they couldn't load it on the flatbed due to the key not turnig in the ignition- aka car will not go into neutral. The inside light turns on so battery isn't completely drained but the locks and window dont work,,so battery is definitely low.
I am not sure if the ignition issue w/ the key not turning is due to the battery being low or something else?? Unfortunately the regular mechanic I take it to is closed due to the covid-19 situation for the next two weeks. Any thoughts on any of these problems is much appreciated. There was a burning smell of sorts but couldn't quite tell where its' coming from. Oil and antifreeze levels are good. Previously there was a similar issue w/ the car stalling out about 8 month ago and it turned out ot be the ignition cassette cartridge, so perhaps this went bad again? Any help is much appreciated. thanks
