Haven't done that specifically but I think something like 3M Automotive Attachment Tape (p/n 06376) would be easier to use. It's double sided and foam. That one is 30mil, which is pretty thin. I'm not familiar with that trim (Viggen doesn't have it) but if there's any sort of channel on the back of the trim, you may want something a little thicker to fill the channel and adhere to bumper but still get it to sit flush and proper. The tapes come in different thicknesses (.015 increments I think) and also different widths, so get something close to the width of your trim or the width of any channel/groove on the back of the trim. Clean the surfaces very well with alcohol. And also use 3M adhesion promotor on both surfaces. Tapes and promotor available on amazon. I've used it to reattach the Viggen spoiler to the hatch (replacing original) and I've used it to keep the rubber thing attached to the bottom of the headlight lens.
