1997 NG900 SE high idle Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Mon, 12 Apr 2021 20:06:33 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Brought the car out of winter storage with a 20 mile drive home, since then i've had persistent high idle at 2,000 RPM, also with a sort of 'missing' sound intermittently but fairly often...
today i installed a brand new Evap purge valve with no change (this was on the list of things to do because last fall the car died on me while turning a corner at say 25 mph, and other times the idle would suddenly drop to like 500 RPM and then pick back up, like it had a mind of its own).
i have double checked all vacuum lines, the bypass valve for vacuum, etc etc.
i've read that the trionic fuse can be pulled to reset the brain, and i've disconnected both terminals on the battery.
i havent cleaned the throttle body. that was done last spring by my mechanic when i purchased the car and was having other work done to it.
I have a new Throttle position sensor however it seems failing TPS symptoms are different than this.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
