2000 9-3 Fuel Pump Symptoms

Greetings
My 9-3 has 160,000 miles. I have driven it the last four years, 40,000 miles. Occasionally, when I start the car it starts fine but seems a bit starved for fuel. The car starts right away but runs rough as though starved for fuel for about 3-5 seconds.
I replaced a filter on my 9-5 Gary Fisher, it was a quick and easy job.
Do you think this is a symptom of a dying fuel pump?
Does the pump generally die around this mileage and age?
Should I just wait until it does not work at all and then decide to replace it (or agitate the pump for the last drive home for replacement)?
Thanks
