check the trunk first and see if the the package area is clear (2 microswitches). if you can put the top down halfway manually you can check all the microswitches individually: 5th bow microswitch driver side mounted by the ram, two tonneau microswitches driver and passenger side. on my viggen vert the microswitch on the driver side 5th bow ram came loose and broke. when this switch is loose or broken (arm is brittle) the rear window will not move up to start the top down operation. the microswitch is available on eBay, it's pricey. also check for leaking hydraulic lines, by now they are brittle and will leak or break easily. check for leaking rams too. I replaced all the hydraulic lines and the 5th bow ram from Top Hydraulics. The shop will charge a lot for this work but you can do it on a weekend.
