Hello,
Really the big changes are the transmission and axles. The axles are bigger thus the strut housing are different to handle the larger axles. The transmission is stronger to handle the extra power. In 1999 the engine management is different. The Viggen was always a T7 while 99 9-3 was still T5. Yes the brakes are bigger but they are interchangeable if you swap both discs and calipers. The engine can interchanged. Good Luck, Bernie
