Thank you, Bernie.
This does not appear to be a linkage assembly issue. I can articulate the linkage-assembly, while still installed on the selector-rod, to engage gears 1-4 very easily.
However, when it comes to getting it to move into the synchro for R or 5th it feels like it is hitting some resistance internally.
I *will* remove the rod-linkage assembly and see if I can get any {5th / R} engagement this way. Pessimistically anticipating the same result though.
Help me to understand the 4 shift-rods inside the gearbox. Are 5th and reverse gears/synchros not on the same rod? the EPC parts explosion is a bit unclear on the internal topography of the shafts. But it looks like i'm seeing separate forks for R and 5. (1-2 share a fork and 3-4 share a fork, it would appear. ?)
And just for further clarification: ASE cert. Automotive Master here. w/ ~18years experience professionally on most European marquees. So we can skip some of the basic principle fundamentals and save you a but of typing. Ramble on!
thanks again !!
