Fix It or Get Rid of It?

I've got a 94 900S that I bought about 4 months ago with 76,000 miles on it, and I've put another 9,000 on since then. I've had only one problem with it, but that was a gem - it refused to go into reverse for about a week. Nobody I took it to locally could find what was wrong, and I had an appointment to take it in to a Saab transmission specialist when it magically cured itself. I had him take a look at it anyway, and although it was fine by that time, he said he could hear a faint "swishing" sound that indicates to him that the transmission is going to give trouble soon. At the moment, the car is behaving well, but I know it's getting to need a new clutch, and the power steering is beginning to groan. Since this happened, I've been hearing very bad things about the 1994s. What's the consensus? Should I get the transmission rebuilt and keep it forever, or should I sell it quick and move up to another model year?
