So first off here's my setup: Funnel mod air box, removed turbo discharge silencer, modified TB transition casting and Saab sport exhaust ... and oh ya, the "$35 manual boost controller" as it's come to be know around here.
here's my situation: i've noticed a wired "moan" sound (almost sounds like muffled honking geese, but only one prolonged noise). It occurs in every gear as i can tell but only under particular cricumstances:
1. RPS's @ 3000-4500
2. Steady 55-75% throttle
3. seems to be excentuated when going up hill
4. only occurs for about 200-500 rpm's worth of tach travel.
so anyone ever heard of this? or anyone have this happen to them?
it doesn't sound like a 'bad engine' noise or anything like that, it just doesn't sound nice. i didn't notice it until after all these mods, but the airbox, silencer, casting and manual BPC valve all were done over like 2 weeks (or 2 weekends as the case was).
my best guess is that i caused some wierd harmonic in my induction system. wondering if anyone knows different or has any ideas. I'd like to get rid of it (while keeping all mods of course). thanks for input
chris
