Any experience in lubricating the shift gate on a 5 spd? ('97 900s) I have spent some time getting used to the shifter and I have adjusted the linkage as per the Haynes manual and the SaabMaster TSB postings (putting the drill bits in the right sized holes, etc.), and I have decided that all of my stiff/catching shifting problems are shift box/shift gate related. I looked at the disassembly and adjusting instructions in the haynes manual, but I'd like to get some lubricant in there from the top (i.e., without removing the entire center console, seats, etc...) I'm getting an occasional rubbing/squeak. I also don't really like the way that plastic hold-down collar (on the top of the shaft globe)hold the globe in position; it seems too easy to distort. Any history of problems here? The entire shifter seems rather unforgiving...
