1. Antifreeze, about 1 shot glass worth. Actually the instructions say 50mm but 1 shot will do ya'. Oil would probably work okay: but, it would be more difficult to tell if oil leaks out of the seal and the gas charge escapes (ask me how I know this can happen). This is to increase the heat transfer of the system (remove heat from the damper). Air is a good insulator so don't leave the annulus (strut tube) empty.

2. No cutting or drilling, just some hammer banging against the pickle fork. You can try the wood and hammer against the control arm, but I found that a ball joint size pickle fork and a hammer work great on the control arm and the tie-rod. BTW, the wrench size for the ball joint (maybe tie-rod joint too) is 18mm. Just go to Home depot and get one of their combination wrenches. Also the wheel nut is 32 mm, one from the auto parts store should be fine. If the ball joint spins when tightening the NEW nut, put the jack under it and give a little pressure to keep the ball from spinning.

3.Tools: 32 mm socket for the wheel nut, good size bench vise (to hold the strut housing nut while you turn the strut, I used the bar (about 4 ft long) from my floor jack to break the nut (150 ft-lbs, my ass)), 18 mm combo wrench for the ball joints. The top nut for the Koni's is 24 mm (I think). Other than that, I think the rest of the tools are pretty standard size stuff.
