Our 1996 900SET has seen its' share of major repairs also. Bought it new, dealer maintained. A lot of the major repairs were under warranty but still.....too many, too early in my opinion. I've been stranded four times with this car...first time at about 15,000 miles..alternator died.....(I now rent something for long trips...no confidence in the 900). The car now has 91,000 miles on it and I'm of the opinion that I've got too much time and money into this car to get out now. So I'm going to stick with it until the next major expense tells me to do otherwise. Looking back, knowing what I know about this car now, I probably would have dumped it at 20,000 miles or so. As a point of reference..we also have a 91 9000 Turbo with 157,000 miles on it and still going strong and with no where near the problems of the 900. Because of our experience with this 9000 we bought the 900. Just my opinion.....good luck.
