Yes, these can be great cars to own, but it's not going to be trouble free, that's part of the "charm".

Seriously, if you want a trouble free car, buy an Accord or Camry. The 900 will have more "personality", but as I mentioned above, the care and feeding can get a little pricy. If you don't mind that, then buy the car and enjoy driving something that isn't a "cookie cutter" car.

By all means, though, have a Saab mechanic, dealer or independent, take a look over the car. Every little part seems to cost about $350, so inspect it well. Browse through some of the threads below, someone was asking what to look for in a '97. Most of the same things apply to the car you're looking at.
