is full unwound from the take-up gear/spool. Occasionally the antenna motor will stop a bit 'short', usually it just spits the antenna and track out!!
I believe the track's teeth should face the front of the car when doing the reinstall, there is an internal 'lip' that the tapered end of the track must be manually finessed by before the take-up gear can grab the antenna (don't forget to put the little tube back in the hole BEFORE you install the antenna).
